About Me

Hi! My name is Julian Serra. I live in Mexico City, Mexico. I started as a software engineer and now I build companies. Right now I am the co-founder of trece, which is building patient-to-agent healthcare for Mexico.

Some of my favorite things:

  • Riding my bike
  • Golf (handicap around 9)
  • Fútbol. Visca el Barça!
  • My German Shepherds
  • A good pint of Guinness

My Work

  • trece (2025 to now) – Co-founder
The future of healthcare is patient to agent, and it needs infrastructure. trece is building both sides of it in Mexico: a patient-to-agent service that turns scattered labs, prescriptions and wearable data into one living record, a plan with biomarker targets, and an agent that answers from your own history; and a world-class, AI-native EHR for the doctors on the other end. All of it connected to 500+ lab locations.
  • Stanford GSB (2022–24) – MBA
A before and after in my life.
  • Bitso (2020–22) – Product Manager
Shipped the first version of the stablecoin product that now moves ~10% of US→Mexico remittances. Led the Brazil launch to 500K+ users in six months.
  • Bitso (2018–20) – Software Engineer
One of the first engineers. Core payments infrastructure, and part of the team behind Mexico's first IFPE license.
  • Columbia · Claremont McKenna (2018) – BS Computer Science, BA Economics
The Combined Plan: engineering in New York, economics in California.
